Robert Brighton BSc hons, NDA (RASE), MRAC, ARAgS is Land Heritage’s Executive Director and joined the Trust in 2000. Born into a background of traditional Northern agriculture, Robert qualified from the Royal Agricultural College and managed a mixed farm in East Sussex where the issue of animal health led to questions over the conventional approach to agriculture. He graduated from the University of Newcastle and then went into lecturing firstly at Hadlow College in Kent and then moving on to become Vice Principal of Durham Agricultural College. In 1986, he became Principal of Worcestershire College of Agriculture and developed the first Organic Agricultural course portfolio within the UK which is now internationally recognised.
