The Land Heritage Education Centre for Farming and Food

For over 20 years, Land Heritage has owned organic land and promoted the ethos of organic food and farming through meetings, lectures, conversion advice, newsletters, farm walks and work in schools. The Trust is creating the Land Heritage Education Centre for Farming and Food in recognition of the real need for a place where people of all ages, backgrounds and interests can come together to learn more about what can be done – both practically and through research – to protect our countryside’s heritage and to encourage our farming and food industries to thrive into the future.

Phase I, workshop, classroom and WCs, is now complete. Our photovoltaic and solar thermal installation is nearing completion. You can read more on our news page.

Phase II, offices, a board/meeting room (to be available for local groups to hire) and library, is in development.

At the heart of the Centre is the farm, a working organic model, which will provide opportunities for practical demonstratoins and skills training, and will encourage much needed research for the development of sustainable, organic husbandry.
