Barton Farm
The Trust received its first farm, Barton Farm, in 1984 – a Devon holding in the Exe valley of 100 acres which has been farmed organically since 1976. The farm currently comprises of a 40 head beef suckler herd and offspring, predominantly South Devon and Angus cross, 70 head of Jacob Texel x Zwartble sheep and 4000 free range laying hens. These are the Colombian blacktail variety and the farm supplies local Farmers Markets with the eggs as well as Waitrose. There are no cereals at present.
