Easterdown Farm
Easterdown Farm was gifted to the Trust in 1985 together with Chitcombe Farm. It is set in the Brendon Hills and covers 73 acres. The climate is relatively mild, the rain and mist producing heavy crops of grass for grazing, silage and hay. The livestock include a flock of Border Leceister ewes, a Suffolk ram, cattle, a flock of geese and table poultry and laying hens. Arable crops are limited by the altitude and wet climate but occasionally oats, wheat and rye are grown and also roots for the livestock. The farm has been managed organically for about 40 years.
