Summerhill Farm

The Trust’s new headquarters and home of the new Land Heritage Centre, Summerhill is a mixed farm of 100 acres in an area of outstanding natural beauty in mid Devon. It is run by the Trust’s Executive Director, Robert Brighton and was acquired in 2002. Winter oats and winter wheat are grown on the farm and the livestock includes a flock of Zwartble sheep and a herd of Red Devon cows and bull. Summerhill is being developed as the model farm for the Land Heritage Centre allowing for practical demonstrations of organic husbandry. Through the management of Rob and his team, it will be embrace the best of the old and the new in organic farming practices.
