By
road
From the A30 (Bodmin Okehampton) trunk road: come off at the first
roundabout called Merrymeet at Whiddon Down (A382 Mortenhampstead).
Take the last
exit on the right towards Cheriton Bishop and then the first left
about 100 yards from roundabout signed Yeoford and Hittisleigh. Follow
this
minor country road through the village of Hittisleigh (about 2
miles) past the Church at Hittisleigh Barton. Continue for another
2.5 miles
until you come to he entrance to Summerhill which is on the right-hand
side.
From Crediton: proceed up the High Street to the top and turn left at the traffic lights signed Yeoford. Follow the country road into Yeoford (approx 4 miles) past the Mare & Foal Inn and take the next sharp right as you come over the railway bridge signed Hittisleigh. Keep straight on this road for 2.4 miles past the turn for Woodland Head and Binneford/Pitton. As the road begins to incline the entrance to Summerhill is on the left-hand side just as the road levels out.
By Public Transport
By train: take the Barnstaple train (Tarka line) from Exeter St
Davids to Yeoford. Some trains are request stop trains so you
may need to
inform the conductor you need to alight at Yeoford. Land Heritage
is 2.4 miles
from the station and transport can be arranged in advance.
