Apple Day 6th Oct 12.30-6.15pm

Apple pressing with Cider with Roadies plus poetry corner, wassailing and apple pie contest! 5.30pm The Common Players perform their family show 'The Big Squeeze'. In the tradition of Mummers plays this bold, bright and newly written story of Pip the apple is performed to you as you stroll around the world of the apple press and its setting. Fate brings Pip, who is ripe and ready for consumption but is too worried to fall from the Mother Tree, into contact with wild weather, evil Mr Badfinger and the truth about dear, kind Uncle Allan. Puppets, theatre magic and live music come together to entertain you in this 40 minute family show.

Soil Association local groups: be involved in your local food community!

As part of our Action Organic project, we're running a Devon networking event on 31 October at Summerhill Farm from 1pm (including lunch). This free event is for anyone who has ever thought of getting together with like-minded people to help rejuvenate and celebrate their local organic food culture. We'll discuss ideas on how Soil Association local groups can develop, network, and link up with other sustainability initiatives to effectively influence the future of our food and farming. To register your interest in this event, please contact Lucy Wallis on 0117 914 2425 or email lwallis@soilassociation.org.
